See if you can Google up an old V17 demo from somewhere. Does nothing more, but for EDM you need nothing more. It simply connects the dots and enters G01/G02/G03 appropriately. The thing is you gotta get V21 or lower, as it is as brainless as it gets. Since EDM-s need very little in approach, spindle, coolant, feedrate etc etc, the trick is to take any mill post supplied with BobCAD, strip ( erase ) any and every entry in the post configuration and use cut chain. There is absolutely nothing ANY!!! CAM software can and will do for you that you cannot get done by drawing it in your CAD, and then use cut-chain. If I had the ability to create videos, I would proove it to anyone.Īs long as you have a good geometry which connects end to end, 3 clicks will get the code out. I assure you, there can be no part complex enough to not get the final code out in less than 15 seconds. Take the geometry you want to cut, draw a lead in and out, and then export it as DXF. Really.Ĭreate the CAD file in whatever you use. For 2 axis EDM and converting DXF into code, buying ANY EDM package is the a bigger waste than a bridge to nowhere.
